About this collection

The Hawaiian Islands are one of the most unique places in our world. They are located in the middle of the Pacific, 4,000 kilometers from the nearest land - the West Coast of the USA. So far, I have spent seven years of my life in Hawaii, it's actually my other home. Hawaii is probably the most harmonious of the inhabited areas on the planet.

It's a pleasant tropical region with a very stable climate that can boast minimal fluctuations in temperature (the average temperature in August is around 80,6 °F and 73,4 °F in January), making it difficult to recognize the difference between the winter and the summer. No monsoon rains. No unbearable tropical heat. No dangerous tropical critters. Well, it's a kind of paradise. In one day, you can go skiing and then go for a swim in a pleasantly warm sea. There are many climatic zones extending between the sea level and the 4,200-meter-high peaks of the hills. Living here in peace and harmony, perhaps the most diverse mix of people from all over the world can be found here. You can hear mainly English on the islands - Hawaii is one of the US states after all, but Hawaiian is the second official language.

The island of Oahu, where these images were taken, is the most populated of all six major Hawaiian Islands. Almost a million people live on this island while the total population of the state of Hawaii is a little over 1 400 000. Oahu is also the location of the capital and largest city of Hawaii, Honolulu. Despite the fact that this island is so densely inhabited, you can also find untouched places with no people. The area of the island is approximately 65 kilometers by 35 kilometers. This area comprises a delightful blend of beautiful nature, many years of Hawaiian history and modern architecture. The island offers many interesting places to see. I took pictures of lots of them during my wanderings around the island for you. You can view them in 3D quality in the comfort of your home, so you don't even need to suffer through the long flight across the ocean to get to Hawaii.
