Haast - salmons, Tasman Sea, Tea Coloured Creek, Wanaka - waterfalls and a lake, Puzzling World - an iconic tourist attraction

26 January: Leaving for Haast - a salmon farm, farewell to the Tasman Sea from a wooden tower viewpoint at the beach. Traveling along a river called Tea Coloured Creek according to its colour tone. Traveling to Wanaka, waterfalls on the way, the lake in the north and the city in the south. There, a visit of the Puzzling World amusement park with a leaning tower and humorous public toilets (there is a painting that is somehow connected to the room itself). The next destination: Queenstown.


26 to 28 January, 2013

Queenstown - a cable car and a jet boat rides, Arrow Town - a museum, a Chinese village, Glenorchy settlement, Routeburn Track

26 January: An evening drive to Queenstown with viewpoints on the way.

27 January: The Gondola cable car ride up the hill Ben Lomond. A walk through the city and alternatively a steamer and a jet boat cruise on the river. Traveling from the Queen's town - Queenstown to Arrow Town, a historical town with a school that hosts a museum, a visit of a Chinese settlement. 

28 January: A journey from Queenstown to Glenorchy, a museum near the pier, a hike along the Routeburn Track located on the territory of two national parks (Fiordland NP and Mount Aspiring NP). Stopping at a popular café in Glenorchy on the way back and then a journey to Te Anau.

28 to 30 January, 2013

Te Anau - Mirror Lakes, Key Summit - hiking, Milford Sound - a fiord

28 January: An evening arrival in Te Anau - camping. 

29 January: The Mirror Lakes reflecting the surrounding landscape, continuing around Key Summit - a planned hike, but first a journey to Milford Sound through a tunnel in the rock and a cruise into the bay connected to the sea. Returning to Key Summit - the hike with views of glaciers and lakes. 

30 January: A return to Te Anau to spend the night and to gather new strength before going to Dunedin with stops in the city of Invercargill and other interesting places.
