I'm finally here. After months spent by traveling around Southeast Asia, I'm in Nepal. After some necessary preparations in Kathmandu I decided to go on a trek in the mountains around Everest. Nowadays, most trekkers choose air travel from Kathmandu to Lukla, a town in the heart of the mountains that lies a week's walk from the Everest Base Camp.
I decided to follow an old road that had been followed by every expedition heading to Everest before the airport in Lukla was built.
My plan is to travel through the mountains until I reach my next goal: a trek only three saddles below Mount Everest.
I didn't regret my decision. The trek along the trail Jiri – Sete – Junbesi – Monjo all the way to Namche Bazaar is very beautiful, although very challenging. When looking back, I can understand why a lot of people simply fly to Lukla and arrive to Namche Bazaar after two days instead of eight.
All good things must come to an end, even for me. Eventually, I went home. After having experienced the trek below Everest (you will find the pics in the following album), I set out in the direction of India and then... home. The collection contains only a little taste of India at its very end: a photo of the city of Varanasi and two of Kochi.
